Wow...glad to see they are repairing your truck with minimal fuss. Did they say what would have caused the lifter to go bad?
I agree with Kane Gray, it's very odd that this would happen right after the replacement HPFP. I have to say that as much as I liked my 6.4L when I had it, there's no way I'd own it out of the warranty period!
You're in the process of getting $20,000 in repairs done. Your extended warranty has paid for itself a few times over!
That extended warranty is starting to look really...shiny...right now. I just can't stop thinking about the $20K your truck just cost Ford over the last month.

763 miles (12 mpg) truck ran like new, Sherwood Ford did a great job, Ford picked up all the bill ($25,350) they also put on all new belts & tenchers.
Left 09/13/11 for Sterling Va. with 40' trailer 348 miles, returned home. TRuck is runing great, the only change in truck is water tempature (running 200*f to 202*f) before it was 195*f The hole trip the high was 214*f. (pulling trailer 80 mph on turn pike, on a 2 mile climb, never dropped out of over drive) I have put 3,250 mile on motor. OIl change this week in!
