I am looking at moving, and throwing the idea of buying an enclosed cargo trailer to help make the move. 8.5 x 20 front V, with 5200 per axle with a pair.
My questions would I need to get a weight distribution set up for this? It will be loaded down pretty good.
I would need to get a brake controller, and would be hauling it with the V10 Excursion.
Agreed with Senix, apply the extra safety factor with the WDH. A brake controller is a must. One thing about it, you have plenty of motor to pull it. If your going to load it down and travel a good distance, take all the safety precautions that are available and it will make the move less stressful and more enjoyable.

The move will be over 16 hr drive one way. I will probably need to make 2 trips.
I had a quick search around and saw the hitches are not so bad for price wise. I thought they were going to be more.
If you're towing with an excursion, I will discourage the V, but it's your decision...
With the excursion, wind hitting the trailer won't be much of an issue as there is only a few feet between the main rear of the TV and the trailer.
When loading for a move, having a front wall to place and secure things against will be a very welcome feature. When loading for a move in an enclosed trailer, you really want to fill the trailer, and you want everything tied or wedged as best as it can be... While the cargo won't see wind, it will still have to survive stops and starts as well as turns and bumps, but stops are ALWAYS the most important... There is nothing quite as scary as the load shifting in a hurried stopping maneuver.
Thanks guys for all your tips and comments. We have a new twist to things. I'm heading up there this weekend for a week to work with them, and have them see if they want to spend the money to move us up, from what I gleaned. They obviously want to see what I'm made out of before investing in me too much.
