It's the fender flares and lower side door molding that goes on some models. Sometimes its a different color than the truck like beige cladding on a black or white excursion. On My Limited Excursion the Cladding is color matched to my truck, black on Black, so you rarely even notice it's there.

Reply to bumper questions:

I found the 2011 rear bumper on Craigs list for $150. The rear sensors are the same and will conect to your factory wire harness if the bumper has them installed. If you find a bumper that had sensors but they are missing you will need new trim rings to snap into the new bumper then use your old sensors. However if you want a painted bumper they are as rare as hens teeth with sensors. You will need to mark and drill the bumper then use a dremel tool or file to create the alignment slots next to the hole. This process is a P.I.T.A. Most of the black bumpers available are from cheap work trucks that did not have backup sensors.

All of the actual brackets bolt up to the new bumper and the lic plate lights just pop into it as well. The hole for the spare tire crank will be on the wrong side but X owners don't need to worry about that because the tire is in the truck.

Thanks for the idea! I needed a bumper for my Black 04 Limited so on a whim I tried Craigslist and low and behold I found this new takeoff Ford F350 Rear Bumper - BRAND NEW

Ended up paying $150 also but as seen in the ad, no holes for the back-up sensors. Could you please post up part #'s for the trim rings, hole dia. to be drilled, etc, etc. Thanks in advance.

BTW the bumper looks great.

I saved the part #'s for the trim rings and will post after work when I get home. Each one of the trim rings is installed at a differnt orrientation. After you drill the holes you will need to cut a small notch at the corect position for the locking tab on the trim ring. I used a dremel tool and a small file to create this. Its actually easier then it sounds.

Found a 2011 black takeoff bumper from a truck shop for $150 but no holes for sensors.

If I reuse my exsisting sensors why do I need to get new trim rings? Can't I just reuse everything from the old bumper?

The trim rings set the angle at which the sensors need to function properly. The old bumper is very round and the new one is almost flat. The angle of the sensors would be out of whack. The sensors are the same and snap into the new trim rings.

Thanks a lot, makes a lot of sense. How much were the trim rings?

You think these black painter bumper will hold up to the salt abuse during winter months? I was thinking of spraying at least the back part of the bumper with some truck bed liner or something to that effect.

Your Ex looks great!! Awesome job.

I have an Eddie Bauer blue with the tan cladding. Would the black bumper look OK? As you can see paint bubbles are pretty bad.

Found the part numbers:
RH Outer: 7C3Z-15K861-A
LH Outer: 7C3Z-15K861-B
RH Inner: 7C3Z-15K861-C
LH Inner: 7C3Z-15K861-D

Called the local ford dealer and the prices are different for all 4, cost is around $7 - $9 each.

Here's another site that sells them cheaper but not sure about shipping.

7C3Z-15K861-B - Ford RETAINER

How big are the holes for these sensors?

seven,
Where'd you get the front end set-up? Did you buy it as a kit all at once, and does it need all the extra bracketing that the ebay stores sell with the grill/bumper?

Seven3smoke - or to anybody who did this swap ,

I got my 2011 bumper and my ready to install it. However the new bumper does not have the big rectangular hole behind the license plate area so I can reach in and put the bolts through the frame. Did any of you had to cut a big enough hole so you can put your arm through and put the bolts in? Or is there another way to doing this? Pls advice. Thx.
