DDM HID Light Kit Problems ?? Help!!

I need some help!!! Last night driving home and my head lights started flicking on and off. Inside the cab I could here what sounded like a clicking sound as the lights went on and off.... I took everything apart and checked the wiring to make sure something hadnt come loose sense I installed them 4 months ago.....

Everything looked good, lights where working... so I put everthing back together.

This morning I'm driving to work with the lights on, and as I go down the road the lights go out! I couldnt get them to come back on. Fortunately, I only work a couple miles down the road and was able to limp her into work without attracting the attention of the local police.

I have the DDM HID Light Kit like alot of people on this forum.

Any ideas what the problem is???

Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you find out?

I have read somewhere on this forum that some people had some bad parts and had to have DDM replace the part.

My question is how did you find out what part was keeping you from your lights coming on?

Any help would be appricated.

To me it sounds like maybe the wiring harness may have went out on you...but I'm no expert haha I would call ddm and ask them...I had a problem on a buddies car I did and they knew exactly what was going on( he needed error code eliminators)

The three typical culprits that could make a light to not work are the ballast, relay and bulb. Since you said that both lamps went out, my guess is as the last poster -- relay. Since it is part of the harness, you will need to cut it out and replace it or order a new harness.

If you opt to replace the harness, here comes the fun...

I think you bought yours about the same time as mine. You may have the old style or new style bulb connector. Here is a picture of the two different types.

If you have the old style, you will either need to cut off the new connectors and install the old ones or buy bulbs with the new connectors.

ParaTrooper -- Good news. I have a couple of extra harnesses (don't ask, it's a long story). Anyways, if it is the relay; on both of the harnesses I have, the relays can be simple pulled off. If you have problems locating the relay in your area, PM your address and I will send one of the harnesses for free (they are just collecting dust).
