Stock reman alternator made it no more than 15,000mi and that might be giving it a few 1000mi
tommorro I put some miles If I got it wrong that light seams REALLY sensitive so I will know it I hope

They are made by Prestolite and are normally put on heavy-duty trucks.
I didn't say authorized dealer... I said be careful of fakes on eBay. Mine came from eBay, Jacks was eBay.
I'm in the Chicago airport on my phone or I'd send you a link. PM too-many-toys and I'd bet he gives you a link to buy the right one and at a steal of a price!
Ed@FICM REPAIR also sells them at a good price.

Thanks for the referrals, guys! Yup, we have the original Made in America Leece Neville units on the shelf and can get them for you with or without the pulley at your option. If you for some reason desperately want the Made in China version, we can get you that version as well for like $150 less, but there is no way I'd recommend it.
Here's the link to the real deal:

Actually I got mine directly from a Ford FSE, leftover from inventory as a large city emergency services fleet was taking on 6.7Ls and these weren't needed. Ford approved!
A 140a often is all that anyone needs, but here ya go:
Pestolite's national listing of retailers.
Prestolite / Leece-Neville Distributor Search
Kaestner Auto Electric is on their list and also sells eBay for $350, sometimes discounted so they are worth a call.

I've delt with Kaestner Auto years ago when we were doing tractor-trailer tests and had a failed alternator on a big boy, so although eBay I know they are good.
XDP 5 minutes from me sells them with free shipping, sometimes with a discount from their $350 price.

Sometimes the real ones in Presotlite's blue and white boxes pop up on eBay as they want them out of inventory, but apparently you have to be careful. There was a company selling a group of them years ago for around $275 I believe. I helped a guy put one on his truck and that was a genuine L-N he got off eBay for $280. Correct box, correct parts, correct literature, correct label on the unit.
A few other diesel shops carry them too, just like Ed.
RareElectrical is an example of a seller to avoid per Ed's warning.
