Maybe the folks in the 1987-1996 forum can help.

I'll try to look it up in the parts book (covers 80-89).

I wonder if a fan off a Diesel will screw on a 460 water pump?

Those suckers move air!

From what the parts book tells me, it doesn't look like it.

OK, I think you (OP) want what is labeled as 8600 below:

Trouble is, the 80-89 parts catalog doesn't show the 7-blade variant as standard equipment on the 460s - they list a 5-blade variant:

And, get out your checkbook....

E4TZ-8600-C FAN BLADE ASSY. Fits myriad applications, incl. 84/ F250-350, F(SuperDuty) built from 12/83 with the 460 engine // 5 blades, 20.5" // Marked E4TA-MA
www.partsguyed.com (a sponsor) can sell this to you; MSRP $144.72 Ed's FTE price $86.83

But you want a 7-blade.....

The numbers you provided, are there any others? They don't look like what I'm expecting.

That 19", is that the width of the fan or of the shroud?

OK, here are the 3.5 pages from the FoMoCo 1980/89 Parts Catalog showing all the fans (Basic Part Number 8600) that came standard on:

A - Aerostar
B - Bronco II
E - Econoline vans
F - Light-duty pickups & Bronco
R - Ranger

This is all the information any FoMoCo parts guy has; you can (usually) see the number of blades, diameter, what applications it fits (A/C or standard cooling, etc.) the size of the center hole, the replacement part number (r/b == "Replaced By"), and the Ford-inscribed numbers on it (prefixed with #)

I highlighted in green what the book says came on your vehicle:

Plug any of those part numbers into Ed's site (www.partsguyed.com) to see if he can get it and what it'll cost you.

NumberDummy may be able come up with information about 1990-91 but I doubt it's different.

Made me go look, but my '87 has only five blades.

I DID happen to notice that my fan clutch is getting a little sloppy so I was good I checked.
Another $100, seems to fail all too often...

The clutches are even more expensive for the diesels, and they have a terrible failure rate. That's why I went ahead and made brackets and locked my fan up, it does ok since the diesel doesn't rev up very high. By the way, the diesel fan diameter is about 23 inches.

You can buy flex fans that are 19 inch. I haven't had very good luck with the aluminum bladed fans, though some people say the steel blade flex fans don't fail as often.

P.S. The info just loaded in above and I see the diesel fan is 22 inches in diameter, not 23.

Nothing wrong with posting this here. Lots of guys here have 460's. I just through you might get better "year specific" into in the other forum.
