First of all I would like to say that I love my truck. The mileage could be better but oh well.
It is all stock, I won't remove DPF until warranty is out.
2 weks ago I drove 1900 miles in 5 days. The truck was flawless over the Colorado and Utah mountains. Then through Wyoming and yellowstone. the more highway I drove it the more my mileage increased. I was not towing on this trip however.
This weekend I took my family and Boat to Wyoming for some fun and fishing etc. Everything worked as usual.
Now on the way home yesterday I se the cleaning exhaust message pop up and go away. (just like it should)
About ten minutes later I look at my display and it says Cleaning Exhaust Filter and now the message stays there for a good 15 minutes and eventually went away. So I have the impression that I was in regen for at least 30 minutes. All while cruising down the highway. Plenty of chance to get the DPF cleaned out.
It never said drive to clean or whatever, it had plenty of time for a normal cleaning cycle.
Any thoughts?

Yeah they will do that. If they don't get worked very hard regen takes a while. Two weeks ago I was returning home from a fishing trip, had my camper on and towing my boat, it went into regen for 30 minutes. I was dropping from 5000 ft to 1500 ft elevation, so the engine wasn't working very hard. Finally turned off when I went to fuel up & shut the engine down. Go figure
