2011 wheel offset

Ok, I realize this subject has been just about flogged to death, but there seems to be quite a few different opinions on necessary backspace /offsets for aftermarket tires on newer SD's. I have 285/75/18 Toyo AT's on my factory rims, truck is a 2011 F-350 w/ snowplow & camper packages. Truck sits pretty level. I've got a buyer for my factory rims and may just take him up on the deal if I can find a set of aftermarket 18" wheels that strike my fancy. There in lies the rub. Would like to go a little wider on the rims, 9-9.5" but am concerned with proper offset / backspace and whether hub centric is necessary or lug centric is adequate. This forums expertise would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

Question TireRack sponsor?

can any of the tire rack pros help with this? i'm in the same boat. is there a particular offset that we need or a range of offsets or a "do not exceed" offset or is it dependant on the wheel and tire package making each setup unique? how does the average joe know?
