I have this vision for a set of wheels for my 82 stepside. I'd like to get a regular looking but deep dish wheel with beauty rims and dog dish hub cap, similar look to the GM ralley but with the hubcap. I can't find anyplace that does a steel wheel that accepts hub caps. Any ideas?
Have you already chosen your dog dish caps? I know there are several stock styles. Reason I ask is LMC has alot if not all that were available. There are places that sell "stock" style rims, only wider. Seems like I saw them somewhere while looking for bigger 4x4 rims.
Anyway, if you already have your centers, carry one with you in the truck, and check junkyards and tire shops. I have a set of stock painted rims for my bronc, and I also am wanting to get the "dog dish" centers, paint the rims, and put beauty rings on them. Another set that I have are the factory grey wagon rims with the rings and the three screw center piece. I know for a fact that there is more than one width for this rim, as I have seen and swapped tires between the two widths. I hope this helps you out somewhat. I am lucky enough to live 20 min. from LMC, and also have a store close to me called- The Hubcap and Wheel Store. They have lots of used beauty rings, dog bowls, centers, wheels, tires, etc, new and used. I can get what I want for about 1/2 the price of new.
Hey thanks for the replies. I don't have the caps. Franklin, these wheels look nice, a little more refined looking than I had in mind but generally that's the idea
