well heres the bad news with ladyluck went on a long road trip and the oil pan warped on my cleveland never noticed i was leaking oil like a sive till i heard the clacking then fried some rod barrings crank barrings and cam barrings about 50 miles from home, limped it the rest of the way home 10 miles an hour know i did some major damage to the internals for that, now THE GOOD NEWS, i got me a 429 cobrajet rebuilt with some mods bout 350-400hp, now the question how well would she fit down in lady luck (72) and bolt to the c6 tranny
The 351M/400/429/460 share the same bellhousing pattern. The 351C shares the bellhousing pattern of a 289, 300, 302, 351W. You would need a whole new C6.
I always liked the 429s. I had one partially built, until I went in the army & needed to sell it. I was figuring it to be the high winding big block. A tad much for a 48 F1 though.
what about just getting a bellhousing addaper plate
You probably can't find one, as there is a C6 that will bolt up. A beefed C6 sells for $1000-1500 at the high end. Adapters run $700-850 (for AOD to 385 or FE for example).
So, you just need to do some trading and you'll be back in the saddle.
