Ignition

I need to know the voltage that should be going into my duraspark II control module. I have a new one and I don't want to fry it. Voltage at the coil with key turned to run is 7 volts. Voltage going into the old control module wired up with key in run is 12 volts. Isn't this too high for the module? How can I correct?

12 volts goes to the module. The voltage at the coil should be around 7 volts in RUN because there's a ballast resistor in series with the coil primary winding when the key is turned to RUN. Sounds like you're fine.
