getting ready to take the cab off the frame. What is the best / easiest way to get the parking brake cable out of the way? In the cab from the pedal assembly and feed it back through the cab? Or disconnect at the frame beind the cab and take the cable with the cab??
I too have thought about swaping my cab with a better one. other than the parking brake cable what else do you have to remove or disconect. I have located a cab already just not sure if it's something I can do.
This is all part of the complete restoration, besides the obvious cab mounts, which I know can be done without removing the cab. I am also just being lazy and it makes it easier to paint the rest of the frame and to drop and clean the gas tank, reroute new wires, brake and fuel lines etc
haha edmond oklahoma. my story is, i got this machine for 450 about an hour south and the guy said it didnt run. i open the hood and see it has a blown solenoid and i get a new one and it started right up. rebuilt the carb and put a new starter on it and new battery/alternator cables on it and now it runs better than my 99. but thats the least of my worries now. the floors and cab mounts are rusted out. the whole front end is rusted out (fenders all the way to the radiator mount).
what im tackling next is cab mount and floors and then the radiator support. the rest is cosmetic so i will take my time but besides that its ready to go.
forgot to mention i need to clean the gas tank and put shocks on it. and new tires.
