Benny Tours
This happened to me a while ago, and it reminded me of Benny Tours from the Benny Hill show. Thought that I'd share.
We were going to visit my wife's sister, but decided that we could route it through Florida and have a day at Disney. This involved a rental car and some driving, but my wife hooked us up with a charter flight, and the cost really wasn't too bad. Was about the same or less as flying direct to her sister's place.
They told us to stop at the NorthWest Airlines area. Here's where it got interesting. I showed an agent my stuff and he said 'Nope'.
Well, WTF? So, about 15 minutes or so before our scheduled departure time, a couple of people showed up with a CARDBOARD ticket stand. They proceeded to leisurely set it up and began taking tickets. They weren't in any hurry with that either. They pretty much hemmed and hawed and stewed over each one.
At this point I was waiting to see the nice plane taxi away revealing an old prop job -- followed by a few boots to the backside to help me up the ramp.
That didn't happen, but the plane was packed to the hilt. We had our daughter and grandaughter with us, and our grandaughter was young enough not to have a seat. (not allowed any more). Good thing that there were 3 of us because we were able to lay her out between out laps for changing .
Rest of the trip was pretty normal. I was just dazzled by the cardboard ticket stand. I've never seen anything like that before or since.
Anybody else have any Benny Tour adventures?
