Price is Price, it doesn't matter who says what about "invoice", they don't reflect holdback (which people have heard about) but also volume incentives dealers get. Call at least 3 dealers and get your best price, period. It doesn't matter what shows up where on the stickers, you set the best price out the door, PERIOD.

And if you're not smart enough to walk away then you and more of your money will soon part ways. I got over $9000 off mine about a month after these new truck were introduced. I had a dealer willing to fly me to their town, pick me up, and give me an extra 500 bucks for gas money.

FYI
In town driving and diesels is not good unless you're driving at least 30-40 minutes at a time and getting the engine and tranny running at full operating temps. This is not stop and go traffic either. I would not get a diesel given the small description of your driving.

The maintenance costs will eat you up, based on value per mileage driven anyway. Unless you want the awesome power and cool factor I would stay away from it.

I don't think the 2012 will offer anything special. I was hesitant myself but if you want one just go for it. If you can afford diesel is the way to go.

Thanks guys, I get the Z plan price which is for retired ford employees so no matter where I go they have to give truck to me at the same price, I usually turn my trucks over every year with 10000 miles and sell it for about what my purchase price was. Again thanks

If you're talking about the Safe-Guard Theft Protection Program, it states on the form that the program is voluntary and is not required for the sale of the vehicle. My dealer was selling it at $195.

They do try to get you with the add ons, that's for sure.
