Horn Button

My truck is a '66 F100 Custom cab. It just has a round button on the center of the steering wheel for the horn. I see some pictures on this site of a horn button that has an additional half moon shaped "bar." What trucks would have come with the moon shaped "bar"?

I guess mine has been changed out over the years. Looks like another item to look for at the next swap meet. Thanks.

Seem to recall seeing a couple horn rings on ebay w/in last few days, it's where 65 horn ring came from. I was under the impression horn 'button' and 'ring' required different springs but appears from Dennis Carpenter online catalog they offer 1 and note it's for both. ** In the event decide to order from online Ford parts supplier suggest spending few $ mores and purchase the plastic index cap and 2-3 horn brushes; both the brush in the turn signal assembly and the steering wheel collar are subject to break. May want to check w/ Ford part suppler for the horn ring and whether the other components are included.

The "reproduced" horn ring-use with THREE spoke steering wheel (C3DZ-13A805-D) is the same: 1960/63 Falcon/Comet / 1961/66 F100/250 2WD / 1966 F100 4WD / 1967/70 F100/350.

The reproduced horn ring is sold only as individual parts (not as an assembly) by Carpenter, Dearborn Classics and prolly others.

Dave, the springs are different...as original:

CODZ-13A807-B .. Spring- Use with Horn Ring / CODF-13A807-B .. Spring-Use with horn button.

C2DZ-13A809-A .. Nylon Horn Ring & Horn Button Retainer (Dave sez: index cap) / Obsolete/Reproduced.

C2OZ-13A821-A .. Horn Brush & Insulator Kit / Obsolete/Reproduced.

C9TZ-13341-C .. Turn Signal Switch / Available from Ford.

Applications: 1965/66 F100/250 2WD / 1966 F100 4WD / 1967/68 F100/350 / 1969 F100/350 before serial number G30,001.
