As long as there is some circulation through the plate I don't think there is enough difference to make a difference once it's fully warmed up.

Yeah, my mechanic buddy and I had worked it through and talked about it, and that was what we came up with. I don't have heat to the manifold right now, so we'll have to see how much of an effect that has on it.

Have you hooked the electric fan up yet?

Got the engine wiring cleaned up, and trimmed down today. And...DROVE MY TRUCK AROUND THE SHOP!!! FIRST TIME IN A MONTH!!! Sorry for the caps guys, just a little excited. I would have driven it home, except that the transmission line decided to start leaking 5 minutes after the pep boys down the street closed. It closed at 8! WFT!? I am also having some trouble with the D.U.I. distributor. The truck runs GREAT with the vac. advance unplugged, but as soon as we get everything set and plug the vac. advance in, the truck tries to die. It seems that the distributor shorts out and loses spark(seen with timing light), then when the vacuum runs out, spark picks up again.

Here are a couple recent pictures. Wiring is a little neater and cleaner, but otherwise about as current as it gets.

Not sure how I missed getting this video on here.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/j6gXvXsfnYo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I was also able to get my vac. advance hooked up last night. I found out from Performance Distributors, that my DUI distributor has two notches for the cap, and if in the wrong place, screws with the vacuum...obviously. So, turned the cap, and all is well!

OMG! That sounds sweeeeet!! I am so jealous1
My motor is moving along faster that I thought. If I could only find now a rolling chassis or truck with no or blown motor I'd be a happy man. Sucks trying to find an older truck here in MA. Is any better in CT? I'm thinking I'm gonna have to go south to find what I want
Hey very nice job!

Thanks a lot guys! I am very proud of how far my truck has come, and excited to see how far I can go with it. With just the minor exterior engine mods, I can tell a significant difference in the truck. I can't wait til I get around doing the internals. I want to get the body and paint straight before I get around to that though.

As far as the JY's in CT, I can't tell you. I haven't actually had a chance to get out to any of them so far. I would guess that in regards to a clean body, that would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

Josiah, I absolutely love your truck. Maybe mine will grow up to be just like yours. If my engine was not running as good as it is, I think I would do the same as you did, I love the sound of it.

Thanks Dave! But my truck's body is nowhere near what yours is now. I dream of a day when my truck looks as clean as yours.
