Do any of you know anything about the fuel reconditioner called Pri-D? It is made for both gas and diesel engines. Fairly popular for the diesel marine engines. The specs say it restores the fuel to its original condition which from what I understand degrades over time from production to the pump. It can be bought at Boat US and I'm sure other locations. 16 OZ. treats 200 gal. if I'm not mistaken.
Well, I tried the Stanadyne Performance this weekend. I made an 800 mile trip to my deer lease and back. Prior to using the Stanadyne Performance, I was averaging 19-21 mpg on the highway. On this trip, I averaged 14.5 - 16 mpg. Same driving style as always.
Anybody got a guess as to why it went down?
Don't know why you would drop so far in mpg's. I have used Power Service Diesel Kleen on my last three fill-ups and my mileage has stayed the same. However, it is running more quiet and has a little more pep! Stanadyne is highly recommended, maybe someone else has some idea for the mpg loss. Good luck.

Headwind , clog fuel filter (water) , truck in need of a service, truck load of buddys and gear, Fuel quality, terrain (Hills), or a combo of all the above.
It's to hard for me to believe that adding the Stanadyne caused your drop in mpg. I have expearience just the opposite. when I don't use it after a couple of tanks my mpg drop untill I start using it again.
You are the first person I have ever heard with a report of loss in fuel mileage using stanadyne. I am not sure what would cause your loss other than what geseeders has reported. I would be pretty sure that it wasnt the stanadyne causing it. I have several friends that use it in diesels (new and old) and they all report increases in mileage performance and it tends to quiet the diesel down a little
It was serviced 2 weeks ago (less than 100 miles), which included oil change and new filters. We had a side wind, 2 shotguns and 2 small duffel bags and an ice chest. My son was the only passenger. I buy diesel from the same station everytime, so that blows those theories.
I understand what your saying. I dont know. Maybe try the stanadyne one more time under the same conditions (as near as you can) just to make sure it wasnt a fluke. Good Luck! Wish I was more help to ya.
