The following is my opinion ONLY:
I do not like tatoos or piercings...except ears on girls. But the ONE thing I can not except is tounge piercings! I believe they are put in for one reason only (XXX). Everytime I speak to a girl that has one I picture her using that piercing for what it is origanly designed for. Guys with tounge piercings? I think 1 of 2 things 1, he is "light in the loafers" and wants people to know he does XXX things to other guys. OR he is such a follower he has no idea why he has that thing in his tounge.
Just my thoughts on them.

Wes, we've met, and you have an idea how old I am. I'm from a different generation than you. I agree with Dutch in that I don't like tattoos or piercing either. And I certainly agree with Ian above! Now, with that said, you need to decide for yourself. Not what we want, not what the GF wants. It's what YOU want. I have none, and my wife has none either. She doesn't even have her ears pierced! Said she can't stand the thought of someone poking a hole in them.

As for the girls with the ear rings in their tongues, I don't get it. And, yes, I have seen an occasional guy with them too. They are typically difficult to understand when they talk. If there's some sexual benefit to having them, I have no clue what it is. And I would just as soon keep it that way.

John....I honestly haven't figured out where we got into tongue piercings...

As for the ears....I have NEVER had a piercings in my life....Just never have..."Explored" that avenue...

I figure they are more flexible than tattoo's in the fact that I can take'm out, etc.....

I have no problem with piercings...In the ear....Anywhere else....It's questionable....

The tongue piercings were mentioned above, that's all.

I was gonna say...lol

Ummm yeah...Tongues are to be used for tasting, not piercing, not splitting (Look it up)...

After I sat and thought....Its funny...you see my truck roll up...Cowl hood, punisher skull on the back window...PITCH BLACK TINT....And usually has heavy metal to the point old deaf folks can hear it....

You automatically think "OMG...That has GOT to be one gnarly lookin guy..."

Then I pop out...Just a average, regular joe schmoe....

I honestly get weird looks....I guess I just let people down...lol

As to the earrings...I'm still sorta on the fence...but I'm starting to lean towards them a tad more....

Well, I looked it up. They call it body modification. I call it self mutational! To each their own I guess!!! I just don't understand it. I don't relate to that type of behavior.

in my opinion... i dont mind SOME pericings on girls, but when it starts to get around her face.. ewww! i dont mind the belly button ring tho. its up to you man i think they would look cool especially in black BUT dont get the huge guages. get the ones that look like them but its the regular super small peircings. so that way when you take em out no one will notice you ever had them in. mines been out for like 2-3 years and not a single person even noticed.

The decision is yours. My feelings on piercings and tats have already been expressed by others. Having said that, just a little more food for thought.

Talked to my cousins wife this morning. She is the swing shift nursing supervisor at a hospital. Your GF will not be going to work for them if she has that bar or more than one ear ring per ear or large noticeble holes in the ear or other body parts.

My wife works at an Indian Casino. Pretty much the same rules from what I see in the Company Employee handbook. Piercing in excess of one ear ring per ear shall be removed prior to beginning work. Males shall have no more than one ear piercing in the lower lobe of one ear. Small stud can be worn. Any jewelry deemed to be violation of this policy, or not in good taste shall be removed or covered up at the sole discretion of the supervisor...... "Grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination".
Tats must be covered up and not visible to the public......

Google pics of the reptile guy.... he has had pieces of plastic or something like that and placed under the skin in his head to make it look like he has horns. no thank you.

Tattoos are fine for me. Yes I have one and don't generally flaunt it. Not ashamed of it but it was something I wanted for myself and do plan on some more. My thing for tattoos is they should have some meaning. That way 40-60 years down the road you won't be embarrassed by them. The one I have now is for me all the rest will be about and for my kids.

I don't mind 1-2 piercings in each ear on girls. Otherwise, not a fan of either piercings or tats on guys or girls. I just don't see the point.

On a related note, my wife's bro got a whole bunch of piercings in his ear, basically going all the way around the perimeter. They got infected and he ended up having plastic surgery so that his ear looked normal again. I don't think he wears anything on his ears anymore...

After having another week of hellacious arguing.....

I was informed that my ear piecings would make me look cheap, childish, immature.....Like a smart mouthed little punk.....If I got them...

But finally, after a year of bending, giving, breaking...I said NO....I'm not gonna take it anymore...(Insert Twisted Sister "We're not gonna take it")

I told her that, that was the pot calling the kettle black...23yrs old, THEN wanting to get it, that it wasn't obviously a priority, otherwise it'd already been done....That she was goning into a PROFEESIONAL career...And that bar slammed through her ear would SCREAM immaturity...

And I made the decision NOT to get the piercings....I'm too old for that crap.....Again, just like I told the GF....Not a priority....And if I REALLY was into it...I'd have gotten them 5-6 yrs ago.....

I also threw in the same words she told me...

"You didn't have them when I met you, and you don't need them now"....

"And I can't and WON'T be with someone that had that piercing"....

I gave her a taste of her own medicine....

And THEN I said-

"If you can't respect my wishes, after I've made the decision NOT to get my ears done, then you aren't ready to get married, as you say you are"....

Marriage is a simple instituion...But it takes tolerance, and compromise to make it work....

THe fact is, I wasn't raised to men having pierced ears...And I don't like that Industrial Piercing at all......Makes me sick to see a huge chunk of metal slammed through kids' ears...

And I simply gave her a simple riddle...."Where does YOUR priorities lie?"

She's always telling me that I have my priorities out of whack, so I reversed it on her.....

And trust me...She didn't like it....Not one bit.....

But like I told her....She had NO IDEA what she was doing, hadn't even made one move to research the damned thing....And was gonna pay DOUBLE of what the piercing is worth to be performed....

Like she told me....That crap simply doesn't appeal to me...And why should I have to bend, and bow to her wants....She doesn't do the same for mine usually....

And well, frankly....I let her talk me out of going and doing a lot of things this year....And I always consult her opinion, and advice on buying things....Just as a courtesy thing....

But like I told her..."I have morals, and values that I hold close...And well, if you can't respect them....SOmeone else will...And will be glad to do so..."

She sent me a messge 5 minutes after we got off the phone...

"You're right...you respected my wishes about not getting earrings that I didn't like....So I won't get the IP...And will respect your wishes.....Because I love you"

Yes...A minor squabble when compared to other things...But it shows me she's actually gonna try....

************************************************** **

Plus it felt good to win against her on something for once.....And to stand up for what I believe in....

As stated once in a song-

"You've got to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything..."
