I'm pretty sure the Excursions didn't have a sway bar in the back. I know they're pigs unless you're prepared to spend some bucks on suspension upgrades, which is probably a big reason why they didn't sell very well when they were new. For your purposes, you need to be looking at trucks. The X doesn't sound like it was in very good shape. You didn't say how many miles were on it, but it sounds like the front end was worn out. Don't base your opinion of the 7.3L on it.

How do you get the SGII to read engine coolant temp? Standard gauge doesn't work and I don't see it in the 7.3L x-gauge list.

It's actually set up as a default reading called FWT (Fahrenheit water temperature). See page 6 of the manual for other default settings.

Hmm, that one doesn't work, always reads -40 which is well documented. Wonder if there is something different with the excursion? I'd love to have that gauge, it's always displayed on our other SGII.

Now you have me thinking I may have been reading EOT or TFT? The next time I get to the X, I'll check it out. I should have been writing the information down, rather than going by memory.
