Oil Gauge

95 f250 5.8The instrument panel has the "L to H" oil pressure needle.How accurate are these gauges and what is the pressure toward "L" low and the pressure toward "H" high. Got 219000 miles and need to watch this close.God Bless and ThanksJohn

Not very accurate at all, they more or less just tell you if you have any oil pressure.

If you want a precise 0-60 psi reading you'll have to go with an aftermarket gauge like alot of us do.

What he said. The gauge you have runs off an oil pressure switch instead of an oil pressure sending unit. Basically if you have 7 PSI or more, the needle reads normal.

Depending on what you want for an aftermarket will depend on the cost. The one I plan to get is about $20, but I'm cheap like that.
