I have an 04 F250 Super Duty with a motor stutter. I have had a lot of work done in the last year. HPOP, IPR, oil cooler, EGR delete, FICM, Map, EPB, 4 Injectors, and most of the other alphabet. However, I get a motor stutter that causes the whole truck to shake when it reaches cruising speed.
It does not happen all of the time. Sometimes I can go over 100 miles before it starts. Sometimes I will not make it 10. I have changed the oil and filters several times. I have changed them at only 2000 miles. It never happens when I first start it up. It runs great. No smoke, no codes. It has 162,000 miles. I hope I have covered everything. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance. Don
Oil cooler work was done in November. It had the stutter problem before I had any work done on it. I always figured that the work would cure the stutter. But the stutter always returns. Don
Not necessarily. But if it has been "howling", something is wrong. Are you sure you don't have any codes (what was used to read the codes)? Are you sure you don't have a leak in the CAC system or exhaust? You didn't mention the turbo in post #1, so what was done to it (you mentioned cleaning, but were any parts changed, how did the unison ring look, etc)? Was all of the work required, or was some of it preventative? Has any work been done recently (last month or so)?
