Smile DPF Delete - Homemade

This is my homemade DPF delete pipe. Total cost $50. Tuner is on the way.

Unbolted the DPF, welded three pieces of flatbar, drilled holes to match the flange on the CAT. Cut the hanger with the DPF sensor still attached and welded 3.5" exhaust pipe to fit back in. Once its tuned I will be free from the pain in the *** that the DPF is!

Interesting. Looks like a good job.

Hope you have not run the truck without the dpf and sensors till you get the tuner.

Why wouldn't you be able to run the truck. It would only waste more fuel by trying to "clean" the non existant filter.

Please if you have any other reason let me know I will stop running it. Hopefully nothing too major.

What do you mean by making lots of oil?

I use my truck everyday for work. I had to take the DPF becuase it was going into regens everyday. I figured it couldnt be much worse.

fuel dillution into the crankcase. Have you been checking your oil level? Too much fuel dillution leads to poor oil lubrication. Tends to wear on parts.

Let it get too high and then you could have other issues. So the question is are your levels rising and if you are in regen 24/7 what kind of mpgs are you getting.

Yeah. I am going to park it until the tuner comes. Unless I need it. The only thing is that it is wasting fuel, and the smoke is annoying. I can't see that hurting anything as far as mecanics are concerned.

How does the fuel get in the crank case while regening. I work on the class 7&8 trucks and the fuel is injected way behind anything that can get it back into the crank case??

Ford decided to NOT add another fuel system to inject behind,
and uses the normal injectors to inject fuel into the cylinders on the exhaust stroke. no compression just raw fuel.. some gets on the cyl walls. of course.
