I have a 2008 F350, when I purchased the truck it came with an edge performance tuner and a DPF/Cat delete pipe. All sensors for DPF are placed in the delete pipe. About 3 weeks ago it started regenerating and has continued to do so.
I have unplugged the sensors and checked connections, removed pressure sensor and cleaned. Im not sure what else I can do. If I have to start replacing sensors, I will just get a spartan tuner that can turn the regen off.
from what i have read, when the dpf is removed and the truck doesn"t have an offroad tune, you problemis what happens. Someone correct me if I am wrong here. Either you need to put the dpf back on, or get an off road tune.
i watched a video from powerstrokehelp and he did a video on the DPF.. He stated that he recomended a certain tune that some aftermarket tuners would still regenerate.. I am crunched for time at work. someone with some time post the video for me please.. he goes into great detail on it..

Thanks, If I get a spartan tuner, it should take care of that

Thanks, I will be looking for that video

Yea, I called the Edge performance techs when it started, thats what they said BUT... I "think" that most DPF deletes just call for you to disconnect the sensors and leave them in the DPF assembly. In that case you would definitely have to get a tuner that tunes them out because they would not be able to be read at all....
The delete pipe that is on my truck has 4 sensors that are plugged in and screwed into the pipe. 3 probe looking sensors and something that looks like a pressure sensor spaced out where the DPF and the Cat was. Correct me if I am wrong but with those sensors there, they should be reading open flow!? Right??? So the regen would not have a reason to start or continously cycle.
Its not seeing the exhaust temps it needs to start the regen. So it never leaves. Also the EPA wants you to have a DPF. I hope you have one. If not get one from a junk yard.
You can get a turner that will do a DPF delete or a New/Used exhaust system.

I was thinking about getting rid of the Edge that came on it and getting a Spartan Tuner along with a EGR delete kit. Looks like that's what I'm going to have to do. I have a buddy looking for a DPF for me, he is in the junk yard business. It want be going on unless I have to though. Thanks for the info!!
It a GOOD idea to keep a factory exhaust system if you find one. Because of state inspection. Remember the DPF is mandated by the federal government and most states. I got burn on my 95 Camero when my county started smog testing. So if you can keep the parts to pass inspection I would.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I recently received my Spartan tuner and love it. It obviously fixed my problem. I have only had it set as high as the +125hp tune, I am kinda hesitant about turning up any higher, thinking stuff might start breaking....lol
I also ordered the EGR delete kit but I haven't installed it yet.
