2015 Show and Go in Riverside

I entered Betsy in the Show and Go this year. We went over early this morning early and stayed until it got too hot.

There are about 1,000 entrants this year. I didn't see them all, but here's a few I got pics of.

Yeah Bobby, I was registered as number 727, and I did it months ago. I should have walked around and gotten more Ford truck pics, but it was too hot by the time I decided that.

Yes, Joe, there were some really expensive paint jobs on some of the cars and trucks. More money in them than I'll ever put into a vehicle.

Say, did anyone notice Betsy in the first pic? I just did... on the right side with her hood open.

I like the black '55. Just nice and simple and straight and clean, not too much bling.

Yes Abe, I really liked it for that reason.

I was sitting in front of it in the shady grass area long after I took the pic.

I witnessed a man and his son walk up to the truck (not theirs). The boy (about 5 years old) opened the passenger door to look inside. His dad closed the door after the kid was through looking. Then, the little animal wanted to see the bed, so he jumped up on the running board and peered at the bed. His dad did nothing to stop him. I guess this is just another entitled kid. Maybe he'll be President someday. His parent had no control over him. I almost blew a gasket...

Only the glimpse in the first pic. On the right across the street with the hood open.

Thanks SW. I'll get around to painting the rest of it one of these days.

I thought I'd have more time to work on the truck after I retired, but that time has been filled with other things to do...

Script stakebed?

Well, I've changed horses in mid stream. Actually, I was pretty close to the far shore...

After all the work I've done on Betsy's flatbed, I've decided to buy a script bed that's been discussed on here and in another thread.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...t-overs-2.html

I'm picking it up tomorrow, at least that's the plan as of today. Unless it is really much worse than it looks in the pics I've seen, I'll be bringing it home.

Of course, it won't fit my F4 because it's an F3 bed. So I'll need to lengthen it a foot and probably widen it about 5 inches. I say probably widen it because it's actually only 1/2" narrower than my current bed, which looks fine to me. So I may not worry about the width.

Art, the current owner (penjaksilat on FTE) has been very patiently waiting months for me to accrue the funds. He wants to see the bed on Betsy. It comes with a bumper and hitch which I have not seen yet, but which I'm very excited about incorporating into my truck.

I'll include pics tomorrow.

Good to hear you are getting a script flatbead by one method or another.

Thanks Fred. I've been thinking about this for years, and now I'm almost a step closer...

I was talking to Ray about a bed he had about three years ago but ended up putting it on Blue, which he bought about that time.

Since I have never found one for an F4 anywhere near my house, I decided to go with modifying this one to fit. It looks to be in excellent shape (in the pics) and it's only about an hour's drive away.

Joe, that will be a nice score for your truck! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
