I have this exact saw trigger issue and wondering if anyone has ordered the Poulan switch that Ben Around mentioned. If so can you tell me if it worked.
had an old saw with the same problem, can't remember if it was B+D or dewalt or skil. took it to the right dealer whatever it was. the first girl wanted serial/model #'s name of my firstborn and my dog. the second girl took 1 look and goes "its a non variable speed they all use the same switch and theres 1 in the tub by the til". it was that easy
Thanks for the info. I did order the Poulan 530071533 - POULAN SWITCH ASSY KIT and it is identical in size, but it has a safety button that needs to be pushed in to pull the trigger. I cut off the button and removed the safety clip and it fit and worked perfect.
I don't believe my problem is the trigger after all. I took the wires out of the trigger and spliced them together, the saw still doesn't work.
The shop had put a new cord on it and changed the brushes, so the only thing left that I know if is to have the motor rebuilt. That's rtelativly inexpensive, but I'm tired of messing with it.
I'm in the market for a good used sliding compound miter saw now.

I did the same thing and it works perfectly. Thanks for the post.
