Well after 8 intake valves,2 seats, going to a 4" turbo back system, removing the EBV and some general clean up. Well I think it runs better than new!! Seams to have a lot more power! Next test will be with the trailer and backhoe loaded . Thanks for the input !
180.2 mile test today. Just the truck and 2 pasangers. "18.66 MPG"! I have never been this high.
Next test will be with the camper and the trailer/Backhow.
So far .
Well I just read through all your linked post and man did you do some testing. Glad it worked out for you! By the way, did you ever do a comp check? Just wondering!
I am not a diesel guy and did not have a test gauge that will read that high. 300 to 600 psi. It would have been good to have and maybe some water would have come out,but it would come and go.Seamed to take time to show up? With all the intake valves bad I am not sure what it would have pumped. At 190,000 miles I felt it was just a good time to pull the heads and have a look see.
Man does this thing have a passing gear now!And is a auto trans. Pulled out to pass a car at 50 mph and just like that I was along side the car and going 75. She just pulled so hard.
I'm not a go/fast guy at 60 years but have spent some time at speed and this diesel pulls like some fast cars!
The thing is,with what I have changed I can't think why people would want more power? But I will see when I get the trailer on her? When I got this truck it had more that I needed, but now? Will see. Hope the trans will be OK, she too has 190,000 miles? At 17,000 lbs I think I will just take it cool with my new found power.
