Do you mean to tell us that a valve job that includes two replacement valves is going to cost you $900?

That's it?

Just did a search for "automotive machine shop prices". Diesel heads run about $250/pair for a basic valve grind plus any additional parts. Sounds like $900 is more than double of what it should be. I haven't price any machine work lately, but I used to do a pair of V8 heads for $75 about 20 years ago. Times are a changing!

My thoughts exactly. I did price out a valve job on a 4 cyclinder about 5 years ago, they wanted 300.oo but it included new valves, guides etc.. seem like you could almost buy new for that price. Or new exchange.

You can get a set of 6.0 heads for 700.00 exc. And there o-ringed! + thats a 4 valve head! 900.00 is too high keep, unless he's giving you all new sodium exh. With a flo. Port job and comp. Cam 910 springs, I'd keep shopping!
