That's probably true Mike, good point but for him to put a chip in he needs to clean the contacts. Major, I don't have any pictures, but really, its not hard. I'm like you, I need to see it to understand it most of the time. Pull the tire off and remove the whole plastic well cover or a least half of it and bend it back and its even more easy.
If you just want a high idle puredieselpower.com has one called dfuser. it was $80. I think some one on here got it a while back and it worked good for them. But if your wanting more power too a chip would be the way to go. There is also the home made high idle
You guys totally rock. Within 24 hours I have all sorts of help from extremely knowledgeable folks.
I did run across the 80 dollar high idle deal but the only review on the site said that it didn't work for the 97'. Now I know different. At this point 80 bucks seems affordable and a 6 position chip is quite a bit out of the ballpark financially speaking at this time.
I had been looking at the ambulance aic also. I was just wanting a high idle not a chip (my edge is for pulling codes). It would be nice to have a ford high idle but they look too bulky and i dont know where i would put it out of the way. There is also another version of the ford one. I dont think it has the screen and it has less botons.iirc it works by just pushing in the e brake pedal. Now that one you could hide. I found that on ebay too. It was less expensive cause it didnt have a screen. I still havent made up my mind which one i want yet either.
