Got a wild hair last week and went yard surfing, looking for a bench up to 96 to put in my 69 F250. Found some junk and finally a decent bench out of a 94...all were priced at $150...think there is a conspiracy among yards here on pricing. Brought that bench home and followed the instructions at this link: Seat Installation to install it. I was able to pull my old bench by just unbolting the seat itself from the slider brackets...four nuts.
Then I pulled the new bench slider bracket off that seat, drilled the frame holes out with an 11/32nds bit and dropped the newer seat in my truck. Big time savings not having to unbolt the slider bracket in my cab...old nuts/bolts don't agree with me most times. The only hitch was it was little tight up under the new seat...getting a socket on the four nuts to tighten it down...less room under the newer seat. But it worked out okay. Now I need to transfer the seat cover to the newer seat and park the old bench in the shop...my choc lab already has dibs on it. So, for those considering a swap it's not that hard to do...took me about 2 hours tops, including cleaning/shampooing the carpet in the cab and cleaning the newer seat before I dropped it in. Sits much nicer down the road now.
Sorry, I did not notices the link on your original post.
It looks great!
I am debating whether to keep my 1971 F250 all original or add some mods such as newer seats.
