I have an extended cab 84 F250 that I was looking at upgrading the seats in. I found a 2000 extended cab with good seats and I am pretty sure I can make the front seat work. My question is has anyone tried to use the back seat out one of these in the older trucks. It is definitely more comfortable than the original. Please share any thoughts about using the rear seat or the front seat out of a newer truck. If you have any suggestions on how you made your back seat more comfortable for the passengers please share. Any suggestions are appreciated. Zems
If you want a direct bolt-in you can use any 80-96 bench seat. If you get some buckets you'll have to drill some holes for the middle supports. Reinforce any holes you drill with large washers or more sheetmetal. I installed a 96 bench seat in my 86 and it was an easy bolt-up project and a 100% improvement.
Thanks for the response. I tried going the 80-96 route but all the trucks in my area have been stripped of the seats. I did find a few bucket seats but I wanted a split bench so I didn't lose a passenger space. This is why I was looking at the newer trucks. Also wanted to make the back seat more comfortable for te kids. Zems
I put 2 buckets out of an escort zx2 in mine...took alot of custom fabbin to make some good heavy mounts for them...had to raise them up about 2-3 inches so i didn't look like a midget in a mack truck but they are real nice and set my truck out from the rest of the 86ers
I got a question, I have an 82 F150 and have recently gotten access to a 91 Bronco seats. Will these seats fit and bolt in with little problem or is this something that will just cause headaches?
