A/C condenser

I took my 2002 F-250 V10 in to get the A/C recharged and they discovered it had a hole in the condenser. The shop wanted $600 to fix it so I opted to bring it home instead. I haven't pulled it yet but was thinking about welding the hole up if its possible to get to it. I may just end up buying a new one and replacing it but haven't found much Info on doing that and how much is involved to do it. If anyone has some thoughts it would be appreciated. Thanks

If done correctly a repair will work just like new.
