Dies in reverse

Sometimes if I sit in reverse long enough, my Bronco will die. Like between two and 5 minutes. It's not a problem for me, I'd just like to know why.

I get you own an auto, right? i'm having the same issue, but mine stalls the second i put it in reverse if i don't touch the gas. I'm thinking it's a TPS issue, and i will be replacing it soon, so i'll let you know.

give us info on your rig, like year, motor, tranny etc..

Does it have any idle problems like surging low or high? I had the same problem and found out on here I could clean the IAC valve and solve the problem. Cleaned it with electrical cleaner ($4 aerosol can at wal mart). Its been fine for over a year. Search IAC valve might help.

could be a few different things. check for the basics like a vacum leak, spark issue or perhaps a fuel pump/filter issue.

that year should be efi so perhaps pull codes

I know it is going to sound funny but check the tranny fluid level. It is more of a problem with the AOD's but I had a 1996 5.8 in the shop with a stall at lights and going into reverse. Filled the transmission to the full line and it was all good. It has to do with the load/free wheel and IAC response timing.
