Help New Crossmembers
I am replacing 2 frame crossmembers and 1 bed crossmember on my 1992 Ford Nite. How would i go about remove the spot welds? Just grind it off? Im having a neighbot spot weld a new one on after. Also, what are the color options (interior) for this year? Example, grey,scarlet red, crystal blue.
Do the replacement frame crossmembers come with a nut and bolt rather than welded top and bottom?

there are listings in catalogs for them, but they didnt exist anymore 4 years ago when I needed a set, and it aint got any better since.
find a boneyard to get some from or learn to make them. I custom make the rear one now and then for people that still tow.
you need to grind off some rivet heads, drill, chisel - whatever, the rivets are weak steel.

There are special drill bits to remove spot welds properly, but drilling with a regular bit works fine too. I would advise getting some nice Grade 8 bolts and nuts to replace the welds with.
