Need CAC tubes for 2001 turbo 7.3L
Hey guys, does anybody know where I can get chrome CAC tubes for my 2001 F-350 7.3L dsl? They need to be factory fit, so I can have the dealership install them for me. They told me that there is metal lip on the end of the CAC tube to hold inside the boot, and this is worn. That is why the CAC tube slipped out of the boot under boost. I would absolutely love anything that would increase the turbo sound!!!!!!!
Thanks FTE guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

You probably had one or more loose clamps, and have worn boots. The bumps on the CAC tubes don't wear down.
Sounds like you need some upgraded boots, and if you want chrome tubes, I guess you could always have yours dipped. Clay sells some upgraded boots. Dieselsite sells some nice ones also.

These guys got you covered. Like usual the dealer dosen't want to deal with it unless they can make alot of money. Get the boots from Clay, or if money is short clean them up spray some hair spray on the ends reassemble and tighten down. If the clamps will tighten this helps seal and keeping them from blowing off. Good luck and please report back. Chet

I was driving on the interstate yesterday when my cold side turdo tube blew out of its boot. To my surprise I found a CYCLONE gas saver installed. Should I remove it? My 2001 F350 7.3L DSL has operated fine for 100,000+ miles.
Thanks in advance FTE guys!!!!

Just left the dealership and it turns out that the cold side CAC tube is broken not just worn. It broke right at the seam where the raised edge is located at the end of the tube. I did not even realize this when I noticed the after market fuel saver installed. It was installed right where it broke, so I am wondering if it maybe caused the breakage. My truck only has 300,000mi and I dont see how a rubber boot can transfer enough force/vibration to cause this within 300,000mi.
Thanks for all FTE feedbacks guys!!!!!
