diffrence between 429/460 engine
I recently bought a truck that has a 77 1/2 f-150 body and a 3/4 ton chassis.
I don't know exactly what it is and the engine is not the original that was in either one.
I know that it has the intake bolt pattern for a 429 or a 460.
I need to figure out what it is because, I need to replace the headers.
Any help will be much appreciated

diffrence between 429/460 engine
Dont worry about it mudman, the 429/460 are esentially the same engine but with a different stroke. they share a lot of the same components. the bolt is the same too. as far as i knwo the crank, the pistons and the connecting rods are the major differences. but as far as headers go, just verify that you do have a 429/460 and they will both fit.
