I've seen it done a few times, in my opinion its very difficult to do and have look right in the end. I suppose maybe cutting the back off of something with a larger back window and using that might work easier, doing it custom requires a whole lot of thought to maintain the vintage look and feel.
In my personal opinion the small back windows are just as unique to an old truck as large fenders and running boards. Course that doesn't count for anything if you can't see behind you, lol.
