5 Speed question
My brother owns a 1995 F-150 4x4 (300 six, 5 speed) that is in need of a transmission. We have one out of a 1988. Does anyone know if the two transmissions are interchangeable? They sure look the same.

The 88 should fit just fine. I believe it's the same tranny.

The 1988 transmission will have a hole in it for a speedo cable. You will need to block that off real good as your 95 relies on the sensor in the rear axle.

If the donor trans is from a 300, 302, or a 351 then it will work. Dont worry about a spedo cable cuz your 95 gets its reading front the rear axle NOT the trans
