Whilst spraying the wood siding on my house a few weeks back, I got some on the hood of my truck. It was a latex solution, but I didn't see it right off and it's rather hard now. What would you folks suggest to remove this stuff? I've thought about a light rubbing compound, but I wanted to get some ideas before I ruined the finish.
Would kind of help to know about the type of finish on your truck be it Single Stage or Bc/Cc system. Rubbing compound is a pretty fool proof way to go, and the only real danger there would be buffing thru the paint after you have removed the overspray. If It is a Bc/Cc system then you can use laquer thinner on it, but if yo uare not sure, or have any doubts, dont do that method stick with the Rubbing compound.
This is an area I'm not too familiar with. I don't know what the difference is between Single stage or Bc/Cc. I can look up a code if there is one (isn't there always ) I just know it's whatever the factory used in early '94.
Thanks for the help, 4star. I'll probably just try the rubbing compound this weekend.
I had tried a little mineral spirits on the inside of the tailgate (the lease conspicuous part of the truck IMHO), but it didn't seem to do anything. Maybe I didn't use enough elbow grease or enough time.
