Wish I could help you out, but I don't know the first thing about canopies really. You might try Lund, Raven, etc... I'm sure the others will be along to help point you in the right direction.
waxy... so bad!!!!! maybe you should get the SSOTW (***** starter of the week). lol
robbie1..... i think can-back makes a pretty cool setup.... i have never seen one so i am not sure how they really look (in the pics they look a little ugly to me), but the functional design of them is pretty cool!!!!
Leer makes pretty good canopies. Some of the CarryBoy canopies look also good. Gem Top isn't bad either. Just type their names into 'search'.
If you are on the West Coast, be careful about dealing with All American Canopies. They do a really lousy instalation job.
I have a Snug Top "Hi-Liner". It's fiberglass, with tinted glass, sliders on the sides, and a slider in the front. The interior is lined, there is an interior light, and there are screens on the sliders to keep the bugs out. I'm really pleased with the way it looks on the truck.
I had it painted black at the Snug Top factory. My truck is Ford "True Blue". I had it painted black because if I ever want to sell it I think it will sell easier since supposedly black "goes with anything".
The "Hi-Liner" is about 6" taller than the cab and obviously provides extra headroom. Even though it's taller it still looks aerodynamic...it has nice lines. I susupect you could roll an atv in there with the extra height...haven't tried that though.
If / when you order one ask about factory "specials". Sometimes the factory will have a month long promotion where they will throw in a free option at no cost. Example: headliner, tip-out front window, or sliders. And here is where it pays to pay close attention...the dealer might know these features are free promotional specials but he doesn't tell you...he'll try to charge you for the premium option when it costs him nothing and is supposed to be free to the customer.
I have the Leer model 122, it is the tallest one they make. I got it so that I could put my 3 motorcycles in the truck with the tail gate/windows closed. I like it but it does make a big truck look bigger. The only real problems that I've had is a water leak around the front slider and the rear opening getting wider due to settling. I would recommend drilling vice clamps to keep that from happening.
