To get the wax residue off from the black plastic use peanut butter! Seriously! This was not my idea but I read it somewhere and it sounded so ridiculous that I had to try it and it really does work. Put a small amount on a clean rag and rub it on the affected area and work it in a little. Then take a clean cloth and wipe it clean.

The only reason I gave this a try is that I had tried everything else without much luck.

Being a little OCD in the cleaning department I have come to believe the best way is warm water and Ammonia with clean dish towels. I have used this with vehicles and house windows for years and it even removes the black spider crap from the window ledges.

This stuff even takes smoke residue off of windows! I will find out how to get some any possibly sell it to those of you who want it for no profit towards me.

Looks like Delta Chemical sells it direct.

These products are a bit expensive but I have used a variety of them over the years and really like the outcomes. Griots garage. I really like their waterless car wash and the one step paint protector along with the window cleaner.

Ammonia is very cheap way to clean glass or anything that requires a good strong cleaner.

Heh Barrie guy ..... Welcome to FTE neighbor. I am just down the road in Kettleby.

Careful with the ammonia if you have film tinted windows. It will make them turn colour to that nice shade of purple.

You are close, Kettleby is a very nice place. I'm in Big Bay Point , Innisfil. Good point with the ammonia it would be harsh on the tint but works great on glass.

This is the answer. The other thing I have learned is to spray a small amount of glass cleaner on the microfiber towel, not on the windshield. Clean it and then flip to the other side and wipe it.

I bought a spray bottle of Stoners Invisible Glass at Target yesterday for $3.99. I already have microfiber towels.

I cleaned the windshield, side, rear windows inside and outside. I also cleaned the side view and rear view mirrors and I am beyond pleased!

No streaking at all. The bugs and grime cleaned up very nicely. As mentioned in the post above, just clean with one side of the microfiber towel and then buff dry with the dry, clean side. I'm going to use this glass cleaner on my home and trailer windows!

+1 on the invisible glass, but use plain white paper towels. Best glass cleaner I've ever used.

I second that or newspaper. Invisible glass is the best over the counter glass cleaner. Seriously....for the wax on your black plastic.....Rub peanut butter on it, work it in and wipe off. I'm not kidding....try it.
