Ball Joints
Hi, my mechanic has told me I need new upper and lower ball joints (not sure which side). Is there any Ex. history I should be aware of (e.g. replace the other side too, chronic problems, etc)? Thanks.

Yes, have him replace the other side too. While in there replace the axle u-joints as well.

Also be prepared to replace the auto hub seal/diaphrams.....mine were stuck and had to be destroyed to remove them.....they were like $65 each from Ford dealer if I recall correctly.....most like the moog joints........local parts stores were out of stock and I didn't want to wait so I went with the lifetime TRW.......been 75k miles since and no issues.....

I ordered XRF ball joints online, couldnt be happier with them, but do a search, there is a lots of threads full of information on this site about ball joints, but do both sides, if one side needs it, the other side isnt far behind.
