aod tv pressure

I recently rebuilt an AOD in a '93 F-150. I used the procedure from the factory service manual: with engine fully warmed up and in neutral, the TV pressure should be 33 +/-5 psi with the gauge installed just as you described and zero (no more than 5 psi) with the gauge removed at idle. The service manual does not give the thickness of the gauge, but the guys at Ford Racing measured one for me and it was .276" , so your 5/16" clothespin is a bit over but not too bad!

A slightly high TV pressure will not damage the trans, the shifts will just be late and a bit harsh. Sounds like you are close.
