I powder coated the diff cover, and it is ready to go back on. I got the gasket but had a question. The factory had a metal gasket, and some sort of thicker cardboard material gasket,AND clear and black sealant.
All I got was a thin felpro gasket, and a tube of black gastet silicone, is that enough? Dont want to do this twice
I put the clear silicone on my diff cover, works fine, I did this back in April and no leaks yet. However I did the same on the fill plug and that kept leaking, or it appeared to be, so I got the black sealer because the guy at the parts store said it's more resistant to being eaten by the oil. So far, it's been fine.
