Great job! For doing it in reverse that was the best way to do it....nice and easy. 
I pulled a big box truck out a few years ago in the winter and the driver ran all over town till he found my truck parked out in front of the house. The drivers boss insisted that I give there driver my name and address. A week later I got a gift card to the local store for $70 with a big thank you note for giving there driver a hand. I make a habit of never charging to pull a guy out but it sure was thoughtful of them.
