weird noise on inline six?

i have a 1993 ford f150 xl with the inline six motor. I sometimes notice that after i drive my truck and its at normal running temp and i shut it off and get out i can hear a weird noise that sounds kind of like water running or trickling. what could this be?

Heater core likes to make noises like that. Check coolant level.

I've heard that before in mine too. I have always thought it was the oil draining back down into the pan.

yea oil can make some noise up there. . . .my cummins holds 12 quarts and its pretty loud.
