Quick and easy D60 question

What is the size of the pinion nut that is on my rear D60 and is it the same size as the nut on the rear output pinion on the NP 205? I'm going to see my Snap On tool guy soon and I need to buy the socket for it and at $40+ each I need to be sure of the size.

I'd buy one from Napa before Snap on for as much as you need one they are like half the price. I want to say 2 1/2" but I'm not home to check.

The Dana 60 pinion nut is 1 5/16. The nut on the rear 205 yoke is also 1 5/16". I also would just but a off brand, it's a big socket and probably would never break anyways.

Yea I feel like I need to learn to read a little slower. I thought you meant the axle nut itself. But yea 1 5/16 for the pinion is correct. I also found that out the hard way about 1 am when I didnt have one.

Another thing to think about. For as much as you probably need a 3/4" socket set those big china sets from like tools for fools (Harbor Freight) are pretty decent and have those big sizes in them. I think the last time we got one they were around $60-$80 and have a ratchet and breaker bar in them. I dont like to buy china stuff but for this it works well.

I was thinking the same thing to just buy the cheap set or go to my Napa auto parts and buy one of theirs but on the other hand I have been collecting Snap-On tools for 25+ years and I have the real nice socket sets that cost me a fortune back in the days before I got married and had kids. My largest socket is a 1-1/8 1/2 drive. I even have the Snap-On castle nut socket for the front D60 hubs.

Well in that case I would just buy the whole Snap On 3/4" set
I have some Snap On but not near as much as I'd like.
