4R44E Shift Problem
Greeting from a new poster.
Two days ago I perceived a harsh shift from first to second. However, upon further review, there is actually no second gear. The transmission is shifting 1-1-3-4. From my research, this should mean that the solenoid is stuck off. I had a trans shop run the codes, and got the following: P0733 (third gear error) P0755 (SS2 solenoid circuit failure) and code P1756 (SS2 solenoid failure). I replaced SS2, and it appeared defective based on resistance between the terminals being less than 22-48 ohms. However, the problem is still not solved.
I recently read TSB 02-13-8, and it described some of the same symptons (i.e. no 2nd gear, delayed engagement, DTC 0733) being caused by improper pressures controlled by the main assembly. The TSB recommends replacement or updating the main control assembly based on inspection of ATF in the pan.
Has anyone had similar problems with 4R44E transmissions in vehicles built prior to 12/1/01? Any help would be appreciated.
