I have a 1999 F250 SD Gas (v8) and i have a catalytic converter, with no muffler. Menieke installed the straight pipe so it only replaces where the muffler would be (so the whole system is still stock). i was wondering if there were any companies out there or anything that offer a muffler back, or axle back dual kit for my truck. I really want duals but i dont wanna spend the money for mufflers because i dont want them. Please Help!
Most good muffler shops can make you a great dual exhaust system with or without mufflers, just ask around your area who does good custom work, I had a dual setup put on a linclon LT for $250.00 with a flow master SIDO and stainless tips, they just took it from the stock muffler position and brought it back.

Flowmaster makes mandrel bent tail pipe kits in 2.25", 2.5", 3" and even bigger. They are universal, you cut to fit. About $85 each. FLO-15901 is the 2.5" kit.
hey thanks guys i appreciate the help! i think what im gonna do is have someone like meineke, or carrolls (a local shop) and have them do a y-pipe out of the cat. does that sound like an o-k idea? i was thinking it would work out ok if they put a y-pipe in where the SIDO muffler would be
It will be really loud and drone at upper rpm inside! I sure would try it with a high flow SIDO muffler first you will not notice any difference in performance, just you're sanity....just saying!

Yes, get mufflers. I put straight pipes on my 09 F250 5.4L and loved the rumble around town, but towing heavy loads climbing any significant grades it sounded like a damn rocket ship. I just recently put on high flow cats and a muffler and its still got a nice rumble to it but when it gets in the upper gears towing its nowhere nearly as loud. I have read you lose torque/back pressure by running straight pipes. Not sure how much you are losing but I can tell you I noticed an appreciable difference towing my 5th wheel (especially up steep hills) with the muffler high flow cats added on there.
