You will definitely like your scangauge. I would also suggest getting a mount for it. I had mine velcroed to the dash for awhile, but just installed a panavise mount (P/N 751072398) that works pretty slick. Good luck.
longjohn,
Would definitely like to mount it semi-permanent somewhere.
Was not familiar with Panavise, so thanks for the tip.
Yeah, I had mine there for 5 months.
I found I spent more time looking "down" that driving.
I've since bought the "blendmount" (just google scangauge blendmount) it comes with a cable
extension so you can mount it ABOVE the rear-view
mirror and route the cable down the A-pillar and it
works great.
After 2 months, I now drive "normal" again looking
@ the mirrors & scangauge w/o looking down to
my now-empty cubby.
My cubby is being used by the Edge monitor now and I ended up just putting the ScanGauge on top of the steering column with the double sided velcro. sits well and I can glance down at it just like I would any of the other gauges in the cluster. plus I can take it off easily enough to stick it in the wife's car for a long trip or pull codes for the neighbors.

Here is where I mounted mine with the rear view camera monitor above it. Not really the ideal location because the steering wheel does block the direct line of view, but I have to lean forward or turn the wheel a little to read it.

Not sure if you are interested, but as for your monitor position - I mounted mine up off of the upper console. Not far from the rear view mirror...only activates when a signal is present, so it's not distracting at night. If you moved the monitor maybe you could mice e ScanGauge up higher to see it better?

One of the reasons where I put my Scangauge there was there is a little "vent" opening there. I Dremmel tooled the square hole where I pulled the cord through. Not really sure what the purpose of that square vent was for. I hope nothing overheats back there...
I just traced my cables above the headliner with a fish tape...no drilling or cutting required.
I always thought the vents in that area were either temp sensors or microphones for he AV systems or Bluetooth...anyone know for sure what those are for?
