Talking my ATS install...finally

Well guys its time to make it happen. After sitting on this turbo for about 6months now, I started the install today. Looking to finish by the weekend and if not at latest next Wednesday. Seems like there is a bunch of odds and ends that needed done before turbo could go in. Still need to pick up a few things, mainly just bolts, adapters and finding a way to customize e4od tranny tube.

Heres what I got done today, wrapped up pipe and downpipe on turbo, ordered banks cdr relocater (running it into exhaust), made snail hat gasket , oil line gasket and oil drain grommet, cut up the firewall insulation, relocated vacuum T, put thermal tape on glow plug relay and injector line #7, moved wiper fluid reservoir (doing the 6637 filter).

I know I've asked this before but, with the tranny tube, I've decided since im doing ZF swap ill just try and custom bend the tube rather then buying one. I remember seeing wrecks tube he made but has anyone else tried modifying theirs?

Thanks guys

uppipe

since the new tube woulld be the same length i dont see why you couldnt bend it. That was one of the hang ups on my hypermax install was figuring out how the tube went in there. But as you found out 50% of the work is just making room for it.

Didn't quite get to the guages yet, but today so far I cut and bent firewall, got new braided oil line, all the hardware and adapters, got the turbo on and downpipe up.

I hope the custom valley pan grommet will hold up..seems like the hardest part so far was getting the uppipe off the turbo so it will fit in the back of engine bay. Anyone got any tips on how to get all the bolts on the uppipe and that installed?

firewall before cuts

oil line. 2ft 1/4in stainless braided...a bit long

turbo on, not bolted or but to check everything

installed crossover pipe and the Y piece. to get that Y on there, there was a heat shield on the passenger side riveted on, took that off and gave it tons of room.

Yea, but I can't figure out the shipping haha

Gotta work all day today so might not get much done, my banks cdr relocater should be here so I hope to at least get that on and route those crankcase gasses into the exhaust neer tranny. With that sould I just do straight hose or try and get the cdr into the line somewhere?
